ASU to host sports law symposium

Arizona State University’s College of Law will host a Sports Law Symposium on Oct. 22 in Armstrong Hall. The event, from 3 to 5 p.m., is open to the public. Mike Gallagher of Gallagher & Kennedy, the firm that represents the Cardinals and the Diamondbacks, will moderate the discussion. Gallagher was chairman of then-Gov. Bruce Babbitt’s advisory committee on professional football and chairman of former Phoenix Mayor Terry Goddard’s advisory committee on professional sports. He is the chairman of the Sun Angel Foundation. Mike Barnett, executive vice president and general manager of the Phoenix Coyotes hockey team, will present “Negotiating Player Contracts . . .
