Award Transition Arrangements for New Zealand Members.


As 2001 gets under way, New Zealand members who have recently qualified for the former Bankers’ Institute of New Zealand (BINZ) award of Fellow, and those who may still be completing the academic requirements for the former BINZ Certificate of Banking, are advised of their eligibility for AIBF awards.

A new degree at Monash University, the Bachelor of Business (Risk Management) focuses on risk management as an important toot throughout the commercial world. Changes to the Bachelor of International Finance at Griffith University Gold Coast expand and strengthen the required finance component of the degree.

Award Transition Arrangements for New Zealand Members

When the BINZ and the Australian Institute of Banking and Finance amalgamated to form the Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance (AIBF) there were substantial differences in the requirements for the Fellow award of the two former Institutes.

In the Education Update column of December 1999, members were advised that those who qualify for the award of Fellow under the requirements of BINZ would be eligible to apply for Fellowship of the Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance. This applies to those who completed post graduate diplomas in banking at Massey University or the UNITEC Institute of Technology up to the end of the year 2000.
