Mark A. Lothrop, a partner in the law firm of Kaye, Scholer, Fierman, Hays & Handler, died of a heart attack Saturday at his summer home in Orient Point, L.I. He was 39 years old and also lived in Manhattan. Mr. Lothrop, a specialist in banking and finance law, joined Kaye, Scholer in 1968 after graduating from the Columbia School of Law and became a partner in 1977. He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia Dooley; a daughter, Megan; a son, Sean; his father, Warren, of Kennebunkport, Me., and two sisters, Sarah Duckett of Hopkinton, Mass., and Susan Higgens of Goose Rocks Beach, Me.
