Milan Hrabovský was appointed business director of Microsoft’s OEM division, which sells pre-installed software to hardware dealers within the Czech Republic. The division provides 40 percent of Microsoft’s total revenues here. Hrabovský joined Microsoft Czech Republic and Slovakia as an IT manager in 2000. Since 2002, he participated in forming the OEM division. Hrabovský is a graduate from Prague-based Czech Technical University (ČVUT) and also holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology. The international law firm Gleiss Lutz strengthened its team of lawyers by introducing Rudolf Rentsch to the Prague office. He will be focusing on competition law, mergers and acquisitions. Rentsch also specializes in international arbitration proceedings. Before joining Gleiss Lutz, Rentsch worked with the Swiss Competition Authority in Bern. Later, he practiced law in Zurich at one of Switzerland’s most renowned law firms. Rentsch graduated from the Swiss universities of Lausanne and Basel. He also obtained a master’s of law from the University of Chicago Law School. He is fluent in German, Czech, French and English. Jan Prachař was named director of private banking at Sal. Oppenheim bank in the Czech Republic. He will be responsible for forming a team of private bankers to boost the bank’s image in the private banking sector. Prachař studied banking and finance at the University of Economics (VŠE) in Prague, and he also holds a master’s degree in business administration from Sheffield Hallam University. In the past, Prachař worked in various positions within the country’s financial sector, ranging from a broker on the Prague Stock Exchange to director of the private banking and asset management department at HVB Bank Czech Republic. Kerio Technologies Inc., a provider of Internet security and messaging solutions for small- and midsize businesses, has appointed Jiří Máša vice president of software development. Máša has more than 15 years of software development experience. He joined Kerio from ANF Data, a part of Siemens AG. Hilton Prague has hired two new executives: Finn Minna Mäkelä and Andre Massoud of Lebanon. Mäkelä, who has worked in the hospitality industry since 1993, was named director of business development in Prague. Massoud, who studied restaurant and hotel management at the Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg, was appointed sales director. Milan Tomášek was recently named portfolio manager at the Zlatý fond ČP Invest, the first mutual fund in this country to focus on trading in commodities such as gold and silver. Tomášek, a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague, was previously a financial analyst at the PPF Group.
